Introduction

CaptaLog ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in the App.

Data We Handle

The App manages text entered via Apple Watch and iPhone interfaces.

• Audio Data: The App itself does not record, store, or process audio data. Voice input is processed by the system's speech recognition and only the resulting text is used.
• Text Data: User text remains on-device primarily, with optional synchronization through Apple's CloudKit tied to your iCloud credentials.

Data Storage

Your text data is stored locally on your device and optionally synchronized via Apple's CloudKit service. The developer does not access or view the contents of this data.

Purpose of Data Use

The collected information is used exclusively for core features—namely text display and management functionality.

Third-Party Services

Only Apple's CloudKit is integrated for optional backup and synchronization. No other third-party services are used for data collection, analytics, or advertising.

AI Features

CaptaLog provides AI features to help you reflect on your logs. AI features are completely optional, and no AI processing occurs if you do not configure them.

Apple Intelligence (Basic)

• Supported Version: iOS 26.2 or later
• Processing Method:
  • Simple tasks: On-device processing (no data transmission)
  • Complex tasks: Private Cloud Compute (PCC) processing
• About Private Cloud Compute:
  • Data is encrypted and transmitted to Apple's servers
  • Data is immediately deleted after processing
  • No one, including Apple, can access your data
  • Details: Private Cloud Compute

External AI Providers (BYOK)

You can use the following external AI services only when you configure your own API key:

Supported Providers and Models

• OpenAI: GPT-5 nano, GPT-5 mini
• Anthropic: Claude Haiku, Claude Sonnet
• Google: Gemini 2.5 Flash, Gemini 2.5 Pro

Data Transmission

When using external AI providers, the following data is transmitted:

• Summary candidate generation: Log text from selected period
• Draft generation: Text from selected related logs

Important Notes

• API keys are encrypted and stored in the device's Keychain
• CaptaLog developers cannot access your API keys or data
• Each provider's privacy policy applies:
  • OpenAI Privacy Policy
  • Anthropic Privacy Policy
  • Google Privacy Policy

AI Feature Control

• You can select or change AI providers in Settings
• API keys can be deleted at any time
• If you do not use AI features, no AI processing occurs
